ERYTHROCYTE is an extreme metal band formed in 2004, based in Izmir, Turkiye. After a long hiatus, founding members Mehmet Çiftçi and Volkan Yüce (guitarists), along with Hür Turan Tuna (bassist), decided to reunite. The lineup was later completed with the addition of Salih Mete Kalgay on drums and Şeyma Sever on vocals.
Erythrocyte’s music delves into themes of moral decay, addressing corruption through political, sociological, and theological lenses. Their lyrics explore treachery, war, domestic violence, ignorance, hegemony, misogyny, discrimination, and hypocrisy.
